THERE are many perils driving on the road, more so if the driver happens to be riding on a bike with little protection besides the cloth on their skin and a helmet. Recently, a video surfaced on X capturing the moment of death for a rider.

A nurse, identified as Nurul Ilham Binti Noordin, could be seen hitting the side of a immobile truck while trying to avoid it.
The impact resulted in her flying across the right side of the highway, suffering a secondary collision with a car at the midpoint.
Observing the video, a number of netizens pointed out that a simple cone placed a short distance away from the truck as a warning would have saved her life.
Netizen BakalJenazah (بابا عفيف) pointed out, however, that the rider needs to be alert to the vehicles at the front.
“This is part of defensive riding. Look at the recording. It is like she is not able to avoid or lost focus until she hits the back of the lorry,” he said.
Another netizen said that the lady must be tired working as a nurse, hence her reckless driving.
Air Gedegang further identified her riding at the emergency lane where the truck was positioned.
“Can you drive your vehicle in the emergency lane? Whether you have a cone or not is not the story. The issue is can you drive your vehicle and drive quickly here?” said Crypt2Ditto.
One netizen added that not everyone has a cone or triangle reflector for such a situation.
Perhaps amendments to the traffic law should be in order, as suggested by Dyaazure who claimed that in Germany, drivers are required to place a cone or safety triangle 200 metres behind the spoiled car or the site of the accident.
