DHL Express ups average price rate to 4.9% starting 2021

WITH domestic and global delivery services experiencing an increase in demand, world-leading international express service provider DHL Express announced a price increase that will be effective on Jan 1, 2021.

In Malaysia, the price increase will be an average of 4.9% compared to 2020. The surcharge for overweight pieces and non-stackable pallets will be adjusted to RM410 per piece and RM850 per pallet, respectively.

The objective of the price increase is to continuously ensure the resilience of its network and constantly maintain high service standards.

“The annual price adjustment enables us to further develop our infrastructure while allowing us to apply state-of-the-art technologies and individual delivery processes to ensure best-in-class customer solutions,” DHL Express Malaysia & Brunei country manager Julian Neo said in Sept 21 note.

“In response to the increased demand for logistics expertise due to rising item volumes in the e-commerce market, we have invested heavily in the renewal of our aircraft fleet as well as our global hub and gateway network,” Neo added.

The prices of DHL Express are adjusted on an annual basis, taking into consideration the inflation and currency dynamics such as administrative costs related to regulatory and security measures.

Depending on local conditions, price adjustments will vary from country to country and applies to customers where contracts allow. – Sept 23, 2020
