DOMESTIC abuse is never right even though it is done behind the four walls of a home.
But when the abuser has the gall to take it out on his wife in front of the public, let such an act be met by the full force of the law.

In a video post on X, a man could be seen slapping his wife in a shopping mall decked in Chinese New Year colours, suggesting that the video was current.
The post has since gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation from the public.
Another netizen pointed out that if he could beat his wife in public, it is likely for him to do much worse at home.
Cili Hijau echoed his statement, saying that it was obvious from his action that he did it often. M I R A said that if it was to happen to her, she would ask for a divorce at the very spot.
However, some netizens claimed that it was not a local event, but in Indonesia, while others pointed out that it happened at the KIPMall.
Also, netizen Azha claimed that the man may have been angered after waiting for his wife and kid for too long. Regardless, it is no excuse for physical assault whatsoever.
No further information could be derived from the post, such as the identity of the victim, confirmation of the location or if the perpetrator has been nabbed by the authorities.
On a separate note, Women’s Aid Organisation stated that victims of domestic abuse can receive help from One Stop Crisis Centres (OSCC) located at emergency rooms of government hospitals.
According to the organisation, doctors at the OSCC will provide medical treatment for any injury and also collect medical evidence, which can be used in court.
“You can lodge a police report at the hospital if you wish to make one. The OSCC can also help you access police protection, shelter, legal advice, and counselling via the Medical Social Worker or Social Welfare Officer,” said the organisation, claiming that it is not mandatory to make a police report for domestic violence in order to get medical treatment.
Medical services at the OSCC are free for survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence but they should bring their IC along. —Jan 27, 2025
