Bad luck may mean many things for many people, but for a luckless driver along the PLUS highway, bad luck comes with a RM4,376 price tag.
#UpdateInfo in a recent post on X highlighted the woes of a driver who collided with a hard object on the highway. The incident was caught by the safecam.

Apparently, the driver had followed all the procedures to claim damages from PLUS, but it was rejected. Looking through the video, it can be observed that the vehicle, a Nissan Almera, received some damages to the aesthetics, especially the front bumper.
The portion below of the car also received damages. A visit to Nissan revealed that the total estimated cost of the repairs will amount to RM4,376.
Looking through the comment section, it could be seen that many other netizens had equally bad experiences on the PLUS highway.
According to Wild Orchid, this is nothing new. Her car together with several others once rammed into a lorry tyre in the middle of the PLUS road near Tangkak-Ayer Keroh.
There were damages but PLUS did not make any compensation although a police report and insurance was made.
She was ushered back and forth to PLUS at Seri Kembangan to make the claim. Finally the letter came telling her to claim from her own insurance.
That was in 2015, and the car was just three months out from the showroom.
Netizen Kin lamented that his car lost control after crushing a nail at the highway and slammed into a divider. The joke was that he had to pay a RM300 fine for the damage.
Another netizen observed that all the PLUS highways near Sungai Buloh which had no street lights usually became a place for accidents to happen, especially at the corners. He wondered when PLUS would do something about it.
With all the feedback from the vehicle users, PLUS better be ready to up their game. This is more than just about damage claims, but the fact that accidents involve innocent human lives.
That being mentioned, the driver should also feel grateful as a RM4,376 bill is the least that could happen in an accident on the highway. There are worse accidents, far worse. – Sept 22, 2024
