THE Malaysian Civil Defence force has received a boost ahead of its national day celebrations later this month.
It truly is pleasing to know that its deputy chief commissioner (operations) Tuan Norhafifi Ismail has received his PhD degree in Public Policy and disaster management. He becomes the first member of the force to achieve this milestone.
Possessing such an academic qualification will aid the Civil Defence force greatly especially when they plan for operations relating to disaster management.
It must be noted that assets of the force are not only limited to physical machineries such as light utility trucks, ambulance vans and boats but also that of academic achievements.
Hence, I strongly urge all Malaysian uniform personnel to draw inspiration from Tuan Hafifi’s achievements.
I know the call of duty comes first, but please always find time to up skill academically. It also enables further contribution to country and it is a form of self-achievement.
I would like to urge not only rank and file personnel but also officers to not limit yourself. Always find a way to go further in the academic arena. Choose a course which suits your line of work.
Education can be seen as one of the pillars of progress. Soft skills courses are also one way to enhance your academic background while also looking into long distance courses.
The sky is truly the limit when it comes to academic progress. I would like to call upon everyone to appreciate the value and importance of education.
Economic realities might serve as an obstacle, but please have a strong will to find a way. – March 10, 2021
