Encourage non-Muslims to use Islamic solutions without force, Hadi says

PAS PRESIDENT Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang urged Muslims to encourage non-Muslims to use Islam as the solution to worldly problem, without forcing them to convert.

“Let us all return to the path by making Islam the solution to all our problems. It’s compulsory for Muslims to persuade non-Muslims to apply the same principles without forcing them to convert.

“Besides, if they can fight to uphold ideologies from the East to the West, left-wing and right-wing which can be extreme, why not try the peaceful Islamic solution?” he asked in Harakah Daily.

On that note, Hadi said that Muslims in Malaysia are failing because locals were still practising “secular Islam” moulded by the nation’s previous colonial masters.

“Why are we following Islam based on colonialist’s interpretation while having achieved Independence for so long?

“This has become a curse to us as we didn’t uphold the religion in its full context,” he stated.

Not supporting the “sinful”

Calling it a “fragile” interpretation of Islam, the Marang MP claimed it was also the reason why Malaysia could not become a developed country in 2020, in line with the aspirations of Vision 2020.

“This is a lesson to us for sidelining Islam as per stated under the Federal Constitution, despite being the majority population.”

On the apparent collapse of the Muafakat Nasional pact with UMNO, Hadi alleged it failed as there were self-serving leaders who had something else in mind instead of Muslim solidarity.

However, the Special Envoy to the Middle East stressed that he would never cooperate with the “sinful”, unless they repent.

“PAS will never close our eyes to corruption, money politics and abuse of power. We will not entertain such sinful acts just to appease certain quarters,” Hadi quipped. – March 28, 2022
