THE COVID-19 pandemic has left a big impact on household consumption patterns and personal living habits. People are spending more time at home than ever before.
“With the change in living habits, attention to the demands of housework and home comforts increased significantly,” Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s (TAITRA) executive director of Strategic Marketing Department Mark Wu said during the Taiwan Excellence Household Goods Online Product Launch on Aug 18.
The showcase was part of an international promotional campaign run by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and TAITRA to highlight the strengths of Taiwan’s household industry, featuring 4 award winning brands.
According to TAITRA’s Senior Project Manager of Strategic Marketing Department Cindy Lin, household goods industry possesses huge opportunity as people are always in the pursue of good quality of life.
“The turnover of household goods has increase in 10% and the export of Taiwanese household goods has increased by an average of 30%,” Lin pointed out.
Meanwhile, one of the highlights of the day was Yztek, a specialist in kitchen safety system. Their E+Autoff is the world’s first safety mechanism designed to automatically switch off stoves left idle.
Invented by a man who was concerned about his ageing forgetfulness in leaving her stove on, the product’s patented plug-in device allows for easy installation without ever having to replace the stove or install extra pipes in line, making it a great addition to any household.
Besides that, their Air Renewal System, a new addon to their line up turns normal range hoods into a smart system, keeping the air quality in the kitchen clean while one cooks.
Just by replacing original knob with their smart knob and adding an adapter with the range hood, the range hood exhaustion speed can be controlled according to the heat. The range hood will also automatically extend the exhaustion time by 20 minutes to ensure the air is fully cleansed.
Besides Yztek, three Taiwan Excellence awarded winners were present as well, those include:
Taiwan Glass – Their Heat-resistant Water Pitcher Set, under the brand “TG”, embodies the brand’s unique approach of marrying highly technical processes and materials with a gentle yet distinct design language. With non-porous, heat resistant clear borosilicate glass, the product can withstand a maximum heat of 400°C and sudden temperature range of 120°C.
Artcera – With the brand “ACERA”, their LIVEN Heat Wave Massagers is designed in the shape of an octopus to fit human hands for easy handling. There is also different type of curved tentacles to suit different massage needs. With just hot water, the far infrared energy emitted by the ceramic body will rapidly alleviate muscle stiffness and fatigue.
Seda Chemical – Their AeroKaki+ Series Mattress is developed by adopting advanced materials of space-tech and the eco-friendly process. Integrating the Phase Change Material with Temperature-Sensitive and Viscoelastic Memory Foam, the mattress not only provides the perfect body envelopment and spine support protection, but it also facilitates one’s inner temperature regulation and control.
