Eversendai eyes global strategic partnership with Hyundai E&C

EVERSENDAI Corporation Bhd is eyeing a global strategic partnership with South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co Ltd (Hyundai E&C) in modular construction work for the construction and energy industries.

It said wholly-owned unit Eversendai Offshore RMC FZE recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the international engineering and construction contractor to explore opportunities in the international market, including delivering competitive proposals based on the joint expertise and experience of both companies.

“The projects secured from this alliance will be carried out in Eversendai’s state-of-the-art 200,000-sq-metre waterfront fabrication yard in RAK Maritime City, Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“This strategically located fabrication facility would be able to serve both the Western and Eastern hemispheres, and is capable of delivering large modular fabricated and constructed structures,” Eversendai said in a statement today.

Executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri AK Nathan said the long-standing relationship between Eversendai and Hyundai E&C was established through successful delivery of many projects which had culminated in this partnership.

“I am very pleased with this alliance, and I believe our association could propel our business opportunities further and this collaboration will be an important milestone for Eversendai going forward,” he said.
