FORMER Bersatu leaders Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal have openly criticised the party’s leadership, accusing president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin of weakness and unprincipled decision-making, while alleging Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is the key manipulator behind Bersatu’s internal crisis.
Speaking on the PODaBOOM podcast, Wan Fayhsal said he was suspended without a fair hearing after questioning Azmin’s decision to exclude secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin from party tours.
He described Muhyiddin as “unfit to lead” for being “old, lacking integrity, and disrespectful to the Malay rulers”.
Meanwhile, Wan Saiful who is also the Tasek Gelugor MP, accused Muhyiddin of being the root cause of Perikatan Nasional’s weakness.
“What’s happening now is totally unhealthy. We’re talking about who wants to be prime minister — but what agenda are we actually offering?
“What policies are we proposing that differ from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership now? We’re not talking about policy or public welfare, but about ‘I want to be prime minister’,” Wan Saiful said.
“That’s a completely wrong priority.”
He also alleged Bersatu had been “hijacked” by a group seeking to protect personal interests and scandals.
Wan Saiful mocked Muhyiddin’s blind trust in Azmin, asking, “What kind of bomoh spell did Azmin use that makes Muhyiddin defend him so much?” — Oct 25, 2025
