Firstly, the influencer who is seemingly knowledgeable about police/military matters advises NOT to commence the first move, ie abstain from throwing the first punch or kick.
Secondly, do NOT involve any foreign objects as weapons or simply engage the opponent with one’s bare hands and other bodily limbs. Last but not least, NEVER chase after a perpetrator who has run away.
Projek Hitam contended that following the above tips will facilitate a lawyer’s job when one is in the lock-up or dock.
He was responding to a video posted by Jalal Misai (@jllmisai) which showed a brief clip of a brawl that broke out at a nasi kandar shop apparently over queue jumping antics.
The fact that Projek Hitam’s post has generated 611,000 views at time of writing suggests that many netizens are primed for such action, too. This is a sample of the comments on the post.
There were many queries on what constitutes the “first move”.
A few also agreed that it was solid advice in NOT being the one who raises hand/feet first.
Some went further and proffered advice on how best to react next.
A few did raise the concern that any reaction – even in self-defence – could lead to more serious consequences. The scenario posited was serious injury from a single punch when lashing out in self-defence.
While one outrightly disagreed with the poster’s “tips”.
FocusM is of the humble opinion that it is best to just NOT start or get involved in any sort of street altercation. It will most likely result in a trip to the clinic, police station and possibly a date with the magistrate, not to mention the possibility of missing teeth and bruised egos.
A couple of netizens’ advice was probably not the most “macho” of solutions but certainly seems the most logical – to flee the scene before a brawl is sparked. – June 5, 2024
