BURSA Malaysia’s benchmark index reversed earlier losses to end at an intraday high today, supported by mild bargain hunting in several key index heavyweights.
At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 5.31 points to 1,608.0 from Wednesday’s close of 1,602.69.
The market barometer opened 1.43 points weaker at 1,601.26 before gaining momentum in the afternoon session to end in positive territory.
The broader market, however, was negative with 589 decliners outpacing 470 gainers, while 486 counters were unchanged, 1,151 untraded, and eight suspended.
Turnover improved to 3.44 billion units worth RM2.66 bil compared with 3.41 billion units worth RM2.34 bil on Wednesday. ‒ Oct 23, 2025
