KEDAH Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Sanusi Mohd Nor explained that his absence in Kedah during the recent flood disaster would still happen whether he was in Kedah or not.
He emphasised that he would not have traveled abroad if he had known that floods would occur in Kedah.
“I arrived there (Japan) on the second day, and only then did the floods start. I do my work, and God does HIS work. How would I know that God was going to send floods?” he said.
He also explained his absence was due to official duties in Japan, specifically to learn about the management process of an underground dam operation in Kumamoto.
Sanusi said the working visit, led by him, was planned well in advance, back in April, before the floods hit Kedah.
“If I had known, I wouldn’t have gone (to Japan). Even if I were here, the floods wouldn’t recede; they recede by the will of God, not by my will,” he said.
He made this statement to reporters after visiting the Temporary Evacuation Center (PPS) at the Rakan Muda Complex in Tanah Merah, Pendang, on Sunday. He also visited the flood victims. – Sept 22, 2024
