FMM & Taiwan Excellence to unveil insights of smart metalworking

DIGITALISATION and networks are rapidly making metalworking more efficient, more flexible, and more profitable in today’s Industry 4.0 era.

In this regard, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) has collaborated with Taiwan Excellence, a project that promotes the most innovative Taiwanese products, to host a “Toward Metal Processing 4.0” webinar to showcase and share smart metal processing solutions from three of Taiwan’s leading companies.

In her opening remarks, FMM’s Digital Economy Working Committee vice chairman Dr Helena Eian Yeut Lan noted Taiwan is well-positioned to take the leading role in Industry 4.0 development and implementation.

“To embrace Industry 4.0, a closer cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan is expected,” she added.

Meanwhile, Taiwan Trade Centre of KL director Eva Peng further pointed out that Taiwan is using the strengths of its information and communications technologies (ICT) to assist metalworking industry with planning their digital transformation.

She is optimistic about Taiwan and Malaysia can cooperate on new solutions and collaborate to upgrade the machinery industry.

The highlight of the webinar was when Taiwan Excellence awarding companies introduced their latest solutions and technologies:

AXILE specialises in agile smart 5-axis VMCs with leading digitalised automation solutions. Its ART™ monitoring system enables users to plan and strategise through data analysis.

AXISCO presented its servo broaching machine which uses servo motor to effectively reduce power losses. The HMI interface can simplify operation procedure, and make operators approach high-precision with ease.

HONOR SEIKI’s vertical lathes and aviation processing solutions are equipped with a smart cutter management system to massively reduce the time to change cutters, and improve the production accuracy and efficiency.

To better understand Taiwan’s industrial IoT and i-Manufacturing appliances, Taiwan Trade Centre of KL’s Peng encouraged Malaysian industry players to visit the “Taiwan International Intelligent Manufacturing Show” (TIIM), which is will be held at the ICC, Tainan, Taiwan on Nov 23, 2022.

Alternatively, they can also visit www.tiim.com.tw/en/ for more information. – Nov 10, 2022
