Focus Dynamics injects robotic burger-making processes into Saudee

FOCUS Dynamics Group Bhd has today has taken up a subscription of 138.05 million rights issue share that represent 19.37% of the enlarged share capital of the Saudee Group Bhd.

This investment is pursuant to the previous memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in October 2020 between both companies to roll out a robotics based manufacturing facility as well as developing robotic burger kiosks.

Saudee is one of the country’s foremost manufacturers of frozen food. Its premium halal brand “Saudee Gold” offers a wide range of high quality bratwursts, burger patties, nuggets and fried chicken which are distributed to all major retail outlets nationwide.

After six months of exploration and discussion, both companies have decided to cement the partnership with Focus Dynamics taking a substantial stake of 19.37% in Saudee Group Bhd.

The funds will be deployed into research and development (R&D) by streamlining Saudee’s current operations to include more robotics processes in their current manufacturing operations as well as additional allocation for automated and robotic burger kiosks.

Tapping into the food processing industry valued at RM21.76 bil industry by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), both Focus Dynamics and Saudee have begun a working committee to jointly develop the technology to allow the launch of robotic kiosks within 12 months.

“With COVID-19 pandemic being a global issue, the social distancing and minimising contact aspect of the pandemic has brought the robotics adoption in the F&B (food & beverage) industry several years forward,” Focus Dynamics pointed out in a statement.

“The robotic burger kiosks will feature seamless and automated functions to provide accurate measurements of sauces, perfectly grilled meat patties and toasted buns in the form of automated kiosks and food trucks.”

This will be available as a franchisee model under Focus Dynamic’s own bespoke brand or owner-operator modes to empower the community with a new way to operate burger stalls.

Automation, digitisation and artificial intelligence has in recent times been Focus Dynamic’s primary direction with its F&B concepts.

“With the launch of the Mixobot in its flagship premise Lavo in April 2021, Focus intends to bring about the whole technological push into the F&B space in the years to come. – June 21, 2021
