“Follow teachings of the Quran to protect sanctity of Islam,” Muslims told

MUSLIMS should hold fast to the teachings of the Quran to protect the sanctity of the religion, said Kelantan Islamic Development, Dakwah, Information and Regional Relations Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.

He said that it was the responsibility of all Muslims to maintain unity, harmony and understanding among the people of all races and religions.

“ALLAH SWT does not forbid you to do good and be fair to non-Muslims as long as it does not lead to evil. God willing, we can create an atmosphere of harmony among the Muslim and non-Muslim communities in strengthening the ummah in the country,” he said.

Mohd Nassuruddin was one of the panel members during the Bicara Ulama Nusantara talk programme titled “Strengthening Unity of the Ummah” held at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium today (July 22).

It was held in conjunction with the Kelantan edition of the Malaysian Family Aspiration Tour (AKM) from today until Sunday.

The other panel member was Thailand’s Patani Region Islamic Religious Council Committee member Baba Ghazali Ahmad Al-Fatani, while Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Ismail Petra (KIAS) deputy rector (Academic Affairs and Research) Dr Mohd Ramizu Abdullah @ Zakaria served as the moderator.

Meanwhile, Baba Ghazali said all Islamic teachings contained values of unity which is a core element in Maqasid Shariah.

“To strengthen unity and solidarity, all of us need to obey the leader to ensure unity and this where the Maqasid Syariah functions to ensure that all affairs of life and the administration of the country always bring goodness and well-being to the entire ummah,” he remarked.

The AKM tour themed “Keluarga Malaysia, Keluarga Digital” (Malaysian Family, Digital Family) in Kelantan is specifically designed with various programmes in line with the Government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s digitalisation initiative. – July 22, 2022
