FOODPANDA has now become one of the largest on-demand grocery delivery service in Asia as it launches its 150th pandamart cloud store, with plans to expand the reach of pandamart to 12 operating markets by the end of this year.
According to foodpanda, the company witnessed over double the growth of first-time customers ordering groceries via its app, showing a growth on consumers buying groceries online.
Being Asia’s largest network of cloud grocery stores, foodpanda allow its customers access to over 4,000 grocery and household products to be delivered to their doorstep within 25 minutes.
Since pandamart cloud stores are purpose-built only for deliveries, it is equipped with the convenience of technology and data intelligence.
Products available via pandamart include household essentials even from global brands, as well as fresh produce from local grocers. pandamart also carries plant-based and sustainably-grown produce and products on the platform.
In Malaysia, the cloud store became an essential service utilised by local consumers, especially since the second movement control order (MCO 2.0) hit, causing grocery orders to increase by almost 70% in January 2021 alone.
Additionally, to meet fast-changing consumer needs and preferences, foodpanda has invested to grow its quick commerce (q-commerce) offerings.
Beyond its core food delivery vertical, foodpanda is accelerating the rollout of pandamart and foodpanda shops in partnership with retailers.
“Launching 150 pandamart across 40 cities in the midst of a pandemic was no easy task, but foodpanda realised the critical importance in bringing our consumers what they really needed quickly and safely, especially during times of movement constraints,” said foodpanda director of new verticals Abhishek Sahay.
“Now that we’re operating in eight markets, our goal in 2021 is to take pandamart into more cities within our existing markets,” he concluded. – Feb 5, 2021
