WEALTH is everywhere for the creative individual with the courage to go against the grain.
And it would seem that this time the limelight was stolen by a humble auntie who found a lucrative business by selling food stuff using an automated vending machine.
The story came to light from a post by Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli on X, who stated that the individual, Kak Zainab, managed to get RM4,000 of gross profit per month from her vending machine at MRT Ampang Park through the IPR Insan programme.
Zainab said that she was able to get about RM36,000 to RM38,000 in a year.
Ini kisah Kak Zainab yang sebulan boleh dapat sampai RM4,000 untung bersih jual makanan dekat vending machine MRT Ampang Park menerusi program IPR INSAN.
Setahun dia dah dapat dalam RM38,000.
Memang terlalu cukup, sebab Kak Zainab turut terima tempahan makanan.

Rafizi went on to state that the lady also earned revenue from food order. However, Zainab who was previously a chef also cares for two disabled people at home.
According to Zainab, her most popular dish was the spaghetti Aglio Olio while the lowest selling meal at her vending machine was as low as RM5.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of netizens heaped praises on her efforts as well as her success. This is yet another proof that traditional employment is not the only reliable means of getting money.
One netizen stated that for the portion at RM5, it was too cheap compared to other food vendors out there who sell at about RM10 to RM18.
Another netizen added that her meals were very popular, being sold out every time he passed by.
Netizen Syukboszlai said he had already applied for the IPR Insan programme but has not received any updates regarding it.
When asked about the comparison between the vending machine business and her previous job as a chef, Zainab immediately replied that she preferred the latter due to the freedom she received.
To that reply we say congratulations. It is always refreshing to witness honest, hardworking individuals becoming successful in their endeavour.
More than that, Zainab’s story is also an inspiration to us all to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship. – Sept 19, 2024
