NOW that the election results are out and BN won big, the blame game is up and in full force. Some people blamed BERSAMA for stealing votes away from PH. Others believed it was the unity between the Malays that propelled BN to victory.
And now, Khairy Jamaluddin and FORMER DAP lawmaker and election strategist Ong Kian Ming pointed out that perhaps, it has something to do with the fiery, outspoken Nga Kor Ming, deputy chairman of DAP.
According to Ong in the recent Keluar Sekejap podcast, BN has two poster boys in the Johor election—Onn Hafiz and Nga Kor Ming.
Ong observed that whenever Nga made a post online, or made a speech, his remarks were met with plenty of negative comments from the Malays and non-Malays alike.
He likened Nga to a rockstar where he is welcomed with fanfare, applause and joy by the crowd during the campaign period.
However, this may backfire as outsiders who look into the event will see Nga as the figurehead of DAP.
“The Malays will be more motivated to come out and vote against DAP, against PH,” said Ong.
“One of the biggest presents for BN was Nga Kor Ming. Is DAP aware, or is he aware that he, we don’t even need to do anything. We just show what he said,” said Khairy.
The fact that Nga said he would resign if BN won big in the Johor election probably acted as another huge incentive for them.
However, Nga has since clarified that he would only resign if former Prime Minister Najib Razak was released without serving a fitting sentence.
Responding to critics, he stated his pledge was conditional on the integrity of the judicial system rather than a BN landslide.—July 15, 2026
