Former federal court judge Gopal Sri Ram passes away at 79

GOPAL Sri Ram, a former Federal Court judge and senior deputy public prosecutor, passed away at the age of 79.

According to a source who spoke to Free Malaysia Today, he was being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur for a lung condition.

Sri Ram was known for his role as the lead prosecutor in several high-profile corruption trials, including the 1MDB case involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the RM1.25 bil solar hybrid project corruption case involving Najib’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

His passing was confirmed by a source, who stated that Sri Ram was seeking treatment for his lung condition. The source declined to comment further.

He was reported to have been warded in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur two weeks ago.
