Foundation, Ormond Group provide free accommodation to HKL frontliners

THE ECM Libra Foundation, together with the Ormond Group, will be providing free accommodation to healthcare workers from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

In a media statement on March 23, the foundation noted that this will assist frontline healthcare workers battling the Covid-19 crisis to get some respite, rather than sleep in corridors and on stretchers after working long shifts and have difficulty in going home before reporting for duty again.

The free accommodation begins March 23 for a 30-day period. If the Covid-19 threat has not abated, the foundation will review the situation in consultation with HKL.

All 130 rooms at the Tune Hotel PWTC – which is nearest to HKL – will be provided to the medical staff of HKL. Staff staying overnight will also be provided with complimentary breakfast.

“The frontline workers have shown selfless commitment and risk their lives daily for Malaysians. We will never be able to express our gratitude enough. We just wish we could do more,” said the foundation board of trustees chairman Datuk Seri Kalimullah Hassan. — March 23, 2020
