WHAT WAS once an abandoned structure looming over the KESAS Highway is today one of Subang Jaya’s most compelling property development success stories.
edumetro, developed by award-winning property developer HCK Capital Group, stands as a striking example of how vision, commitment and strategic urban renewal can transform neglected spaces into thriving communities.
Completed in 2023, edumetro has evolved into a vibrant integrated development anchored on education, connectivity and commerce.
With strong occupancy across its residential and retail components, the development has breathed new life into its surroundings while creating renewed value for property owners and businesses alike.
Formerly known as Remix 2, it was once an abandoned project, leaving purchasers trapped in prolonged uncertainty. Highly visible from the KESAS Highway, Remix 2 became both an eyesore and a health hazard.
Recognising its potential and the urgent need for intervention, HCK stepped in to revive the development.
Rather than simply completing the original project, the Group reimagined the site with a new vision, transforming it into a fully integrated mixed-use ecosystem designed around modern urban living and educational connectivity.
The project’s success story recently earned national recognition when HCK received the Excellence Award under The Urban Renewal Award – Best Transformation Project (Mixed Development) at the StarProperty Awards 2026.

The prestigious accolade recognises outstanding urban regeneration projects that successfully revitalise abandoned or underutilised real estate into impactful developments that contribute positively to communities and the urban landscape.
For HCK, the award affirms the group’s belief that urban renewal is not merely about completing buildings, but restoring confidence, rebuilding communities and creating sustainable environments where people can live, work and grow.
edumetro’s journey reflects that philosophy. Today, edumetro has emerged as more than a completed development.
Its strategic location within Subang Jaya’s growing education and lifestyle corridor, combined with its blend of residential, retail and lifestyle offerings, has positioned it as a dynamic destination that supports both community living and commercial activity.
The transformation has also delivered tangible financial benefits. Property values within the development have appreciated considerably, turning what had once been viewed as a distressed investment into a rewarding asset for purchasers who had endured years of uncertainty.
Buoyed by the achievement of edumetro, HCK is now preparing to undertake another major revival effort across the road.
The group plans to rescue the long-abandoned Remix 1 project, which will be rebranded as Subang Sentral.
The development involves more than 2,500 purchasers who had collectively paid nearly RM500 mil to the previous developer but were left without completed properties while continuing to shoulder financing obligations.
Drawing from the successful edumetro experience, HCK intends to prioritise sold units and revive Subang Sentral in four phases, with total completion costs estimated at approximately RM1 bil.
For HCK, however, edumetro remains proof that urban renewal can deliver far more than physical reconstruction.
Its recognition at the StarProperty Awards 2026 highlights how abandoned developments, when guided by the right vision and execution, can be transformed into thriving communities that generate renewed confidence, sustainable growth and lasting value. —May 29, 2026
