**Fuel Fiasco: Petronas Dagangan Faces Diesel Dilemma Until Year End**
PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) has confirmed a widespread shortage of diesel at its stations nationwide, leaving motorists in dismay. The company disclosed that the diesel scarcity is anticipated to persist until Dec 31, citing operational challenges.
In a public statement, PetDag expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and reassured customers that it is actively collaborating with authorities and stakeholders to expedite a resolution.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and wish to assure our customers that we are actively working with the relevant authorities and stakeholders to minimise the disruption,” it said.

Moreover, the issue gained prominence when Sarawak’s Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry sought an official statement from PetDag regarding the shortage impacting most petrol stations in Sabah and Sarawak.
Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen noted that the diesel deficit in the state over the past two weeks, raising suspicions about subsidized fuel being diverted for industrial purposes. – Dec 27, 2023
