Global travel industry regaining traffic with autonomous disinfecting robots

WITH the latest forecasts by the US Travel Association by Tourism Economics predicting US$505 bil (RM2.1 tri) losses globally through the end of 2020, UVD Robots announced its autonomous disinfecting robots being increasingly deployed to hotels, railways and airports all around the world.

UVD Robots’ mobile, fully autonomous robot integrates UVC light and a large number of disinfection-specialised apps to disinfect against viruses and bacteria not only on surfaces, but the air as well, providing a fully comprehensive infection control and prevention solutions.

“As the travel and hospitality industry looks to bring travellers back, they are working to meet new and heightened expectations for safety and cleanliness in order to build trust,” UVD Robots CEO Per Juul Nielsen said.

Currently, the UVD Robots are distributed to YOTEL Boston (US), Clarion Hotel & Congress Copenhagen Airport (Denmark), Gerald R. Ford International Airport (US), Heathrow Airport (UK), St. Pancras International railway station (UK).

Several additional projects are also currently being carried out in the travel industry within the Middle East, including the Hamad International Airport in Qatar. – Sept 26, 2020
