GLOCOMP Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading information and communication technology (ICT) solutions providers, was recently appointed as a distributor for global digital infrastructure outfit, Equinix.
This strategic partnership enables Glocomp to offer Equinix’s suite of data centre and inter-connection services – including Equinix Fabric – a private, on-demand inter-connection solution that enables secure connections to cloud service providers, partner and customer ecosystems.
This partnership represents a significant milestone for Glocomp as it ‘further elevates the group’s already strong reputation in the digital infrastructure landscape nationwide, according to managing director Joseph Giam (main image, left).
“With the finalisation of this agreement, Glocomp is now able to deliver cutting-edge innovations that will enable Malaysian businesses to successfully embrace digital transformation and drive sustainable growth,” he pointed out.
As a distributor of Equinix solutions, Glocomp will take on the responsibility of delivering Equinix’s suite of digital infrastructure offerings to the Malaysian market.
These offerings include advanced colocation services, robust interconnection capabilities and access to one of the world’s largest ecosystems of partners, cloud providers and IT service providers.
Glocomp will also integrate Equinix’s solutions into its own GC360 Managed Services portfolio which includes infrastructure assessments, security posture reviews, data protection strategies as well as Managed Detection and Response (MDR)-as-a-service, thus ensuring comprehensive support for businesses aiming to optimise their digital operations.
“Through this partnership, Glocomp will leverage our GC360 Services to offer end-to-end solutions – from vulnerability management and penetration testing to application performance monitoring and network optimisation,” shared Giam.
“These solutions have been designed to help businesses overcome complex IT challenges, enhance their security and build scalable, resilient digital infrastructure, all while fostering innovation and ensuring business continuity across diverse industries.”
Equinix vice-president of partner sales (Asia-Pacific) Sophie Ben Sadia (main image, right) expects its partnership with Glocomp in Malaysia “to deliver greater value to our joint customers”.
“With partners now able to offer managed services globally leveraging our flexible, scalable and secure digital ready infrastructure platform, customers can quickly expand services to serve geographically dispersed needs,” she envisages.
“Equinix’s global footprint of data centres strategically located at the right places makes all this possible.” – Jan 9, 2025
