DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng has challenged Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari to personally lodge a police report against him over 3R (race, religion, royalty) incitement rather than leaving it to his minions who may face the possibility of committing the crime of making a fake police report.
The Bagan MP cautioned that if Ahmad Fadhli who is also the Pasir Mas MP wants to order PN Youth machinery nationwide to file police reports against him based on false facts, members of the movement could be committing a criminal act of filing fake police reports under Section 182 of the Penalty Code.
Nevertheless, Ahmad Fadhli has responded to Guan Eng’s ‘challenge’ by implying that “it doesn’t matter who lodges the police report for the police will still investigate”.
“This is the Madani government, all reports will be investigated; with regard to whether action will be taken or not, God knows best,” he penned on his Facebook page. “After all, I am outside the country now and I am not the only one who is not satisfied with your statement, hence let the police investigate further …”
A check at HarakahDaily shows that PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has joined the chorus of PAS leaders urging the authorities to act against Guan Eng for “fear-mongering and rallying Penangites to oppose the green wave effect”.
In his defence, Guan Eng who was the former Penang chief minister claimed that the PN has resorted to malice by using slander to make false politically-motivated allegations based on his speech in Mandarin which was reported by China Press.

“Earlier, news portal MalaysiaNow had published a translation of the China Press report that was blatantly wrong,” Guan Eng pointed out. “Today (July 9) China Press published a special report that MalaysiaNow made a mistake in the translation of its report because I have never mentioned Chinese or Buddhist monks in my speech.”
Added the former finance minister: “This confirms my earlier statement that my Mandarin speech has been distorted as if PN intends to demolish Buddhist or Chinese temples. What I was referring to was the incident of a Hindu temple being demolished in 2020 in Kedah.
“Ahmad Fadhli has repeatedly made barbaric and immoral political and personal attacks based on this malicious slander by MalaysiaNow. Does he himself have the courage to come forward by making a false police report against me?”
At any rate, CID deputy director Datuk G.S. Suresh Kumar had on last night (July 9) confirmed that Bukit Aman had launched an investigation against Guan Eng over remarks that allegedly touch on the 3R issue.
“Lim was alleged to have said the green wave (a reference to PN’s election appeal with voters) will destroy temples and deny religious rights in Penang,” reported Free Malaysia Today. – July 10, 2023
