Malaysian jeweller showcases exclusive heritage pieces that date back to a century.

An internationally-renowned jeweler, HABIB marks its 60 years of rich history in fine jewellery design and craftsmanship with the unveiling of its “Heritage Journey” showcase.

The showcase featuring exclusive heritage jewellery pieces draws inspiration from Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage not only to commemorate the anniversary but also to bring visitors to the humble beginnings of Datuk Haji Habib Mohamed Abdul Latif, the founder of the family-owned business in 1958.

HABIB’s first shop was set up in Penang on the bustling Pitt Street, then known as “Jewelers’ Corner”. The two-floor building still stands strong as a nostalgic reminder of how it all began, The top of the store has been converted into the HABIB Heritage Gallery that features over 1,000 pieces of jewellery.

“In line with the 60th year celebration and to showcase our years of entrepreneurial ingenuity and commitment to excellence, we are delighted to offer visitors an intimate look at the exquisite heritage pieces from the original HABIB collection. Each has an emotional story behind it, and we invite everyone to rediscover our history and the values that led to the creations of HABIB’s trademark masterpieces,“ said Datuk Seri Meer Sadik Habib, Managing Director of HABIB Group.

He added, “My father was a man with unconventional ideas who served as a testament that anything was achievable through hard work and determination. HABIB, which he started from zero, has evolved into much more than the jewellery business of 60 years ago, and I’m hopeful that the HABIB legacy will continue as we uphold our promise of being “the gift of happiness” for many more decades to come. We are your heritage jeweller that will cater to your every need and will customise to suit your exquisite desires.”

Take a glimpse of its jewellery history at the Heritage Journey Celebration that will continue with a second showcase at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya from now till Dec 2.
