WHY is it that non-Muslims cannot accept that Islam is the solution to all problems affecting the world, queried PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
In an opinion piece on PAS’ official mouthpiece Harakah Daily, Hadi said it was puzzling that non-Muslims would go all out to defend leftist or right-wing ideologies, even though they were ideas mooted by those not of their race or share the same religion as them.
“They embrace extreme liberal ideas like supporting the LGBT community and other decadent ideologies.
“In fact, some even support socialism and the vile communist ideas in the current political climate,” he said.
Setting his eyes on UMNO, Hadi reminded the former that PAS was never into narrow minded nationalism as it uses Islam as the foundation for its political struggle.
“Though I understand that it is human nature for one to become nationalistic at times but it cannot become the sole premise in a struggle. I must reiterate that Islam is the only faith that can save our race and humanity as a whole, while delivering justice to all.
“Therefore, no race can be safe without Islam as they will not be just not only to their race but also to their own family. Hence, everyone must be saved by Islam, not only their own race,” he stated.
PAS is with Perikatan, period!
Hadi added that if the Malays continue to uphold Islam, not only will the race will be saved but also everyone else living in Malaysia.
“But if you’re looking at saving the Malays without using Islam as its guiding principles, both the Malays and the non-Malays will be in a mess.
“Therefore, I must stress that only a race that upholds Islam is qualified to lead humanity,” the Marang MP mentioned.
With that said, Hadi reiterated that any political cooperation between the top Malay parties must include Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in the equation.
Hence, he added, PAS had decided to formally join the Perikatan Nasional (Perikatan) coalition to accommodate multiracial Malaysia so as to not promote racial fanaticism among any parties.
“PAS will not be drawn into narrow minded racial politics and Perikatan is the solution to it. It is dominated by moderate Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
“Bear in mind that the Muafakat Nasional charter is not exclusive to UMNO and PAS. It must be continued by extending the cooperation among multiracial Malaysia using the Perikatan platform,” Hadi remarked. – Jan 2, 2021.
