Hamzah: “PN Supreme Council open to consider unity govt proposal”

IN an unexpected turn of events, Perikatan Nasional (PN) has announced that its Supreme Council has agreed to consider the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s proposal on the formation of a unity government.

In a brief statement, PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says the coalition’s supreme council agreed today to “consider” the proposal to form a unity government with “likeminded” parties.

He pointed out that this is for the people’s well-being and national stability.

On Tuesday (Nov 22) following a meeting with the Agong, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that he had rejected His Majesty’s proposal for a unity government between his coalition and Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Speaking at a press conference, Muhyiddin had stressed that PN was firm about this stand, adding that they had discussed this matter beforehand and came to the conclusion that they “will not work with PH”. – Nov 24, 2022
