Has Sersol head honcho Justin Lim Hwa Tat gone into hiding?

THE investigation division of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Putrajaya is hot on the heels of Sersol Bhd managing director Datuk Wira Justin Lim Hwa Tat to assist in the investigation of a MACC case.

According to the graft buster, the last known address of Lim, 47, is No. 54, Jalan SS 22/27 Damansara Jaya, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

“People who know or have information about the man are asked to contact the investigating officer, Freddick Makiun, at 03-8870 0480 or 014-8595925 or e-mail to [email protected],” MACC pointed out in three-paragraph statement.

A check at Sersol’s corporate website shows that Lim was appointed to the company’s board on Aug 5, 2021.

He claimed to be a “hands-on CEO with over 15 years of expertise and is well-experienced in various fields such as shipping, commodities, structured financing, fund raising, aviation and trading sectors”.

This is broadly represented in his initiative to provide quality healthcare products through Kenteam Group of Companies and Asia Glove Hub, both of which are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of surgical, examination, high risk and multi-purpose gloves with worldwide coverage in every key market sector.

Lim has also acquired management over Melaka United FC, a Malaysian professional football club based in Melaka that competes in the Malaysia Super League to support the growth and well-being of their players.

“Entrepreneurship is in the interest of Datuk Justin Lim’s family; he is the son of Datuk Lim Tiong Siang (who is Sersol’s non-independent and non-executive chairman),” revealed Sersol’s website.

“He has a direct interest of 93.75 million shares (13.847%) and does not have any conflict in any business arrangement involving the company. He has not been convicted of any offence within the past five years, other than traffic offences, if any.”

Headquartered in Johor, Sersol which has been listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia since 2004 is an investment holding company dealing with new industries such as aviation, energy, property development, healthcare and green technology.

At the close of today’s mid-day break, Sersol was down 0.5 sen or 4.17% to 11.5 sen with 21,500 shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM84 mil. – July 12, 2023
