Hassan Marican steps down as Khazanah director

TAN Sri Mohd Hassan Marican has stepped down as Khazanah Nasional Bhd director effective March 6.

In a statement on March 9, the sovereign fund said Hassan wanted to pursue other endeavours.

The former Petronas chairman was appointed in July 2018 after Pakatan Harapan became the ruling government following the 14th general elections.

At that time, former Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Bank Negara Malaysia former deputy governor Dr Sukhdave Singh and former Securities Commission executive director Goh Ching Yin were also appointed as Khazanah directors, alongside the appointment of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as chairman.
