HCK Tower to sit atop premium mall operated by joint venture featuring Rubberex

WITH the Malaysian economy re-opening and showing signs of recovery, HCK Capital Group Bhd is busy putting the finishing touches on the HCK Tower which it purchased in 2013 for almost RM300 mil.

Boasting a net floor area of 347,000 sq ft, the 42-storey building is ideal for potential tenants who seek a premium office address or business owners looking to capture high footfall from the highly affluent surrounding neighbourhoods.

HCK Capital Group itself will occupy three floors with the premises set to be its new headquarters, ensuring that maintenance standards will not dip in the future as well as being a boost to investor confidence as it signals the group’s long term plans.

Another major boost for future tenants and buyers is that HCK Tower will be flanked by 2.5 million sq ft of retail space, part of which will comprise the Empire City Mall.

To be operated by a joint venture company – Alliance Empire Sdn Bhd – this new mall is expected to be up and running next year. Alliance Empire is made up of a consortium comprising glove maker Rubberex Corp (M) Bhd, Alliance Premier Sdn Bhd, EXSIM Holdings Sdn Bhd and JT Momentum Sdn Bhd.

According to Rubberex, the priority now is to capitalise on the recovery of the Malaysian economy, specifically the commercial and retail sectors. This is Rubberex’s maiden foray and diversification into the property sector which is in tandem with the group’s long-term strategy of delivering sustainable growth, steady income and value creation for its shareholders.

“The retail component of HCK Tower will be the direct beneficiaries as the mall is expected to draw in large crowds from the surrounding mature neighbourhoods such as Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Bandar Utama.”

Hii went on to say that HCK Tower will benefit from having cutting edge technology and Grade A furnishings, thus making it a prime address.

“Its location at the heart of Damansara coupled with great accessibility to major highways such as the LDP (Damansara-Puchong Expressway) and Penchala Link makes HCK Tower a very attractive proposition. The added bonus of a big mall opening within the same development only enhances its value proposition,” he added.
