GET your binoculars ready as Malaysia’s grand fashion event, Tower Fashion Eleganza 2023, is set to take place on Sept 9 at Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower), the tallest communications tower in Southeast Asia and the seventh tallest in the world.
Held in conjunction with the World Skyscrapers Day, this inaugural fashion show will showcase masterpieces from over 15 top-notch Malaysian designers, namely Radzuwan Radziwil, Carven Ong, Bon Zainal, Fizi Woo, Rasta Rashid, Kalima, Leslie Variyan and fellow fashion designers from other parts of the world.
These designers are well-known for their unique skills and ability to combine the finesse of traditional and modern, innovative styles. Over 75 of the country’s most sought-after models will also participate in this event.
“Tower Fashion Eleganza 2023 is a massive collaboration effort put in by so many significant entities especially Menara Kuala Lumpur, national broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Tourism Malaysia, KL City Hall (DBKL) and KL Hop On Hop Off,” event director Bon Zainal Harun told a media briefing recently.
“When I first talked about this fashion show, some said I was crazy but it’s precisely that fact which lured me to the idea,” quipped the Bon Fashion Legacy founder and director.
In its attempt to break the Malaysia Book of Records, the event will be held at night on the Sky Deck of KL Tower which is 421 metres above ground and will be broadcast live by RTM TV. On the technical front, there will be solid cables, awesome lightings, sounds and synchronisation with the drone system.
DBKL which is supporting this inaugural event believes the Tower Fashion Eleganza 2023’s rich and exhilarating content as well as its iconic characteristics will ultimately help uplift two significant industries – retail fashion and tourism. Both are important contributors to the country’s economy.
Echoing the same sentiments with DBKL, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Abdul Hamid Shaikh Abdul Razak Shaikh expressed hope that Tower Fashion Eleganza 2023 will eventually become an annual event that will favourably profile the world-renowned structure while attracting more local and foreign tourists.
“Moreover, our collaboration with Tower Fashion Eleganza 2023 will correspondingly signal our support towards the thriving Malaysian fashion industry,” he added. – July 20, 2023
