TWO foreign marques – Honda and Daihatsu – have joined their national car manufacturer counterparts (Perodua and Proton) to roll out flood relief programmes to customers whose vehicles were affected by recent floods.
Honda Malaysia will offer affected Honda car owners a 25% discount on genuine parts while supporting repair services for affected customers at the flood-stricken areas from now until Jan 31, 2022.
“Affected customers are advised to visit any of the Honda authorised dealers for assessment process and inspection service,” the car manufacturer pointed out.
Recall that over the recent weekend, parts of Selangor, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang were badly affected by floods.
Honda customers who subscribed to Honda Insurance Plus (HiP) can enjoy free inspection (terms and conditions apply) for their cars to ensure that they are safe to drive and in good running condition.
In addition to providing towing service for cars damaged by the floods to the nearest Honda authorised dealership, HiP customers are entitled to receive flood allowance of up to RM1,500 (T&C apply) to alleviate their burden.
“At the same time, Honda Malaysia is working closely with the insurance companies to expedite the claim process for affected customers,” added the company.
Meanwhile, Daihatsu Malaysia’s flood relief programme is open to all Daihatsu vehicles affected and damaged by flood from Dec 22 till Feb 28 at all authorised Daihatsu service centres (also cover individual SME owners as well as corporate fleet).
The company acknowledged that among its impacted Gran Max (van model) users include business owners engaged in their daily operations, courier dispatchers on their daily delivery run, and even long-haul drivers commuting from state-to-state.
Aside from the RM100 (T&C apply) towing service subsidy to the nearest authorised Daihatsu service centre, eligible owners will benefit from up to 40% off selected Daihatsu genuine parts and 20% off labour services along with free vehicle inspection services.
Selected Daihatsu genuine spare parts replacement performed on any engine and transmission overhauling comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of one year/20,000 km (whichever comes first).

On Sunday (Dec 19), Perodua offered assistance, including towing service rebates, discounts on selected spare parts and free inspections to all Perodua vehicle owners who were affected by floods.
Among others, Perodua customers can claim towing service up to a maximum of RM100 at the nearest Perodua service outlets with terms and conditions apply.
Additionally, Perodua is also offering 20% off on selected spare parts to owners whose vehicles are damaged due to floods. The parts include all electronics items, engine overhaul gaskets, vehicle seats, door trim and carpet.
Meanwhile, Proton is offering a 20% discount on selected parts as well as a 20% discount on labour charges for all customers affected by the flood who have lodged a police report regarding the incident.
Additionally, towing charges of up to RM200 as well as cleaning charges for the exterior and engine bay up to RM100 will also be borne by the company. – Dec 23, 2021
