Honda Malaysia aims to sell 200 Accord, 1,000 Civic cars a month

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia is targeting to sell 200 units of the new Accord and 1,000 units of the new Civic a month, managing director and CEO Toichi Ishiyama said today.

He said the Japanese carmaker’s flagship executive saloon, the Accord, has raised the benchmark in the D-segment with its elegance, excellent performance and premium features, while the C-segment Civic is set to excite the market with class-leading advanced D-segment features in safety, style and comfort.

“With new and exciting enhancements, the much-loved new Accord and Civic are ideal for young urban families, professionals and tech-savvy individuals who demand a stylish vehicle with advanced safety features yet is practical for daily performance,” he said at the launch of the cars here.

He said the Accord continues to meet customers’ demands with more sophistication and premium features, promising a refined and exciting driving experience and greater fuel efficiency.

“Notably, it is also the latest Honda model to be certified with energy efficient vehicle (EEV) status,” he added.

Meanwhile, he said the new Civic is equipped with next-generation advanced safety technology, called Honda Sensing.

“I believe the new Civic is a complete car for C-segment buyers with its D-segment features,” he added.

Powered by an enhanced 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged engine that is more powerful than a 2.4-litre engine, the Accord is available in two variants — the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged priced at RM185,900, and the 1.5-litre VTEC turbocharged premium priced at RM195,900.

The Civic, on the other hand, comes in three variants with prices starting from RM113,600 for the 1.8-litre S variant, RM129,600 for the 1.5-litre turbocharged variant and RM139,600 for the 1.5-litre turbocharged premium variant. – Feb 26, 2020, Bernama
