HOUSING and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said his ministry will hold massive operations in an attempt to put an end to the illegal rental of PPR houses.
He said the ministry will use existing laws to ensure PPR owners do not break the law because the housing project received a lot of subsidy allocations from the government.
“I hope all PPR owners comply with the conditions in the contract because we found many (owners) can (PPR), he rents to foreign workers, there is also rent to foreign workers without a permit. This matter we will not compromise.”
There appears to be support for the move by the ministry on social media networks.
On Facebook, some users are saying this is a much-awaited moment, urging the authorities to act immediately as this problem has been around for ages. There should be no compromise, they said.
Another user said the flats in Kuala Lumpur that also received a lot of government help should be checked too. They added that these flats are filled with foreigners.
One user stated rich people can buy PPR houses, which they rent back.
Meanwhile on X, a user said the time is up for the landlords who are renting the PPR houses, telling them ‘good luck’ ahead of the crackdown.
Kepada landlord landlord celaka yang selama ni ambil kesempatan, bolot 4-5 bijik, pi sewa kat bangla lah, rohingya la, letak 6 katil sewa kat students lah..
Your time is up‼️
