Editorโs Note: This is a truly out-of-the-box observation of PAS by apolitical netizen ๐ ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ ‘๐ (@AfralAbdullah) which is worth reading. Click here for the original post on X.
BELOW are among the ‘unique’ things that are likely to happen when people become members of Parti Islam Se-Malysia (PAS).
Whether he/she is a former customs officer (like Perak PAS Commissioner Razman Zakaria), a PhD holder (as in the case of Kepala Batas MP Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad), a doctor, a lawyer, an activist, an analyst, a politician or an activist, a change in attire will be imminent.
He/she can soon be spotted wearing kopiah putih (white skullcap), serban (turban) or jubah (long robe dress) and will soon be addressed or referred to as an ustaz or ustazah by PAS members and followers.
The amazing thing is, the moment they become a PAS member, their mentality also changes. Their ‘intelligence’ prior to becoming a member would swiftly dip and sink to the bottom of the tank.

They will begin to behave (speak and write) like typical PAS members. They will gradually but surely indulge in lies, spins, insults, incitement and slander.
They will also swiftly learn from their peers and seniors how to ride an issue for political gains or mileage.
Unmatched ego, arrogance
Is the unexpected result of the Nenggiri state by-election in Kelantan a strong indication that voters in the East Coast states have started to realise (hence, reject) PAS’ political games and/or ploys?
Will Terengganu sustain the 32-0 state seats they won in the 15th General Election (GE15) which makes it the only state in Malaysia without a single opposition in its state assembly?
Only time will tell for wise people tend to believe that being a champion is a lot easier than sustaining a championship.
Who disagrees if I say Muhammad Ali was a great boxer but what happened? He suffered the first defeat of his entire career after being knocked down by his opponent who became his greatest enemy, Joe Frazier.
Joe was the man who stopped Ali’s winning streak. So is โIronโ Mike Tyson. He suffered his first loss at the hands of Jake Paul, an influencer-turned-boxer.

But the ego and arrogance of PAS or Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition for that matter triumph over Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson put together. Let’s see how long they can hold their ego and arrogance intact.
That said, is it impossible for PAS-led state governments (currently four in Kedah, Kelantan, Perlis and Terengganu) to fall in GE16?
As human hearts ‘changeโ along the way’, don’t underestimate the ability of the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) to stop PAS’s victory blaze, especially in the SG4 states.
As a rakyat, I hope that Malaysia will continue to be governed by a competent and trustworthy government which will continue to propel Malaysia to become a distinguished country, respected not only in the Asian region but also in the world.
Honestly, I don’t see PAS or PN as capable of effectively governing our multi-racial country. โ Feb 5, 2025
