HSSI bags first Johor BRT project

KUALA LUMPUR: HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI), an associate company of HSS Engineers Bhd, has been awarded a contract by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) to provide detailed design and construction supervision services for Johor’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project worth RM71.3 mil.

In a statement on Dec 9, HSS Engineers said the BRT transport system would consist of three high-capacity lanes and construction of a dedicated busway.

“The works will commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 and are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023 followed by a defect liability period of 24 months which ends in the first quarter of 2025.

“Hence, the project is anticipated to contribute positively to the group’s performance for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2019 till 2025,” it added.

It said the first phase of the project consists of three lines. In total, the project stretches 51km covering key districts including Iskandar Malaysia and Johor Bahru. – Bernama
