Hua-An acquires business intelligence, data analytics companies for RM27 mil

SINO Hua-An International Bhd (Hua-An) has signed a RM27 mil sale and purchase agreement to acquire two business intelligence and data analytics companies for RM27 mil.

The companies, Human Capient Consulting Sdn Bhd and MD Labs Sdn Bhd (collectively known as HM Group), have established their own strong track record and clientele over the years.

“Once the acquisition is completed, Hua-An will own 70% of Human Capient and the entire holding of MD Labs,” Hua-An said in a statement today, adding that both companies are certified by the Finance Ministry to supply services and products.

Their prominent clientele consisted of government-linked companies, government departments as well as multinational corporations.

“The purchase will further strengthen Hua-An’s position as Malaysia’s leading digital enabler following the completion of its acquisition of Touchpoint Group, which was announced in December 2019 and would allow the group to develop new streams of income, apart from its traditional manufacture and sale of metallurgical coke,” it said.

The acquisition of HM Group will provide a total cumulative profit guarantee of RM5.8 mil over two years to Hua-An and will contribute positively to the group’s overall performance in the long term.

Hua-An executive director Datuk Jared Lim said the digital technology business is the identified focus area of growth.

“We see an increased demand for companies wanting to digitalise their businesses especially after this pandemic and we are in a good position to help them evolve for Industry 4.0,” he said.

Human Capient is a horizontal solutions provider focusing on change management, manpower improvement, operational efficiency and strategy implementation, which has served medium-sized to Fortune 500 Malaysian companies for more than 12 years.

Meanwhile, MD Labs is a leading intelligence solutions provider in the field of data analytics and vertical solutions. –April 23, 2020, Bernama
