IN re-affirming its commitment towards improving lives within communities it operates in, Kuching-based property developer Ibraco Bhd has revealed its ongoing community outreach and support programme that has benefited a total of 315 under-privileged families.
Working in collaboration with HOPE Place, a local NGO focused on providing aid to under-privileged communities, the group has distributed essential food supplies and daily necessities to financially distressed families across the city.
Concurrently, Ibraco also provided free commercial space for HOPE Place to operate its Kedai Bajet. The purpose is to sell all good condition second-hand items received and to raise funds to purchase essentials for all under its care.
“As a responsible corporate citizen and a sustainability-oriented organisation, Ibraco strongly believes in playing a pro-active role to reduce social inequalities by assisting under-privileged communities in and around our business operations,” commented Ibraco’s group managing director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han.
“We also understand that our corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts must be both consistent and long-term focused so that it can have a positive and tangible impact on our society at large.
“That is why our community outreach and support programme this year marks the eighth consecutive year of our partnership with HOPE Place.”
Since 2017, Ibraco and HOPE Place has assisted more than 2,000 under-privileged families, touching the lives of some 10,000 individuals across Sarawak.
HOPE Place representative Kevin Wan has hailed Ibraco as a dedicated partner who shares its vision of giving hope and touching lives of the community for a better future.
“Before carrying out this community outreach programme, our team has taken the time and effort to engage local communities to fully understand their needs,” noted Wan.
“This extra effort is not only practical but also sends a message to those who are in need that someone cares and is willing to help.” – Oct 18, 2024
