If having a degree is not important, then check out Khairul Aming, said netizen

IS having a degree relevant in this current time and age where anyone with a handphone could become famous and rich?

According to netizen RSB in a post on X, there is a huge difference between an influencer who possesses a degree and one without.

RSB went out to say that if anyone remarked that a degree is not important, just show them the contents by Khairul Aming.

For those not in the know, Khairul Aming is an influencer famed for his cooking skills.

The man has been gaining quite a lot of traction on cyberspace with his recent post where he entertained the prime minister of New Zealand, Christopher Luxon, by cooking him a breakfast of Roti Jala.

Apparently, a video of him holidaying in New Zealand caught Christopher’s attention who then extended an invitation to meet up for a casual conversation.

Regardless of the limelight that Khairul found himself in, are his contents truly the product of having a degree? This is an age-old debate, and has divided netizens in the comment section.

One netizen said this should not be a sweeping statement. Not everyone with a degree is clever while not every smart person has a degree.

Khairul Aming is Khairul Aming because he is educated, not because he has a degree. However, he could confirm that there are many influencers with degrees who make stupid contents.

In reply to one of the netizens who said the man had a master, RSB commented that he was a graduate from the United States. Is the United States then the pantheon of higher education? We think not.

Netizen hasbullah, on the other hand, countered that his achievements were a product of his good behaviour and not a matter of education.

We like to think that influence on cyberspace is a matter of both.

Undoubtedly, there are many entrepreneurs and famed personalities out there who have become successful without a degree.

This fact gives people the impression that degrees are no longer vital nowadays.

However, we should realise that a degree merely provides the knowledge for one to unlock the doors of success. How the knowledge is used, that depends on the person using it. – Sept 4, 2024
