Illegal hunter takes the life of a Malaysian soldier in the jungles of Kapit

ILLEGAL hunters are already a menace for they prey upon the endangered species that are struggling to survive in this increasingly urbanised world.

But when an illegal hunter occupies the headline for killing humans instead, one can only wonder how deep the depravity goes.

According to Irfan_newboys in a post on X, a member of the Malaysian Armed Forces from the third battalion was shot dead by an illegal hunter at the Hutan Batu 5 Jalan Balak Multipus Song, Kapit,  Sarawak.

Irfan_newboys went on to state that the victim was undergoing training with the Malaysian Army in conjunction with the Exersais Pasak Bumi Siri 2/2024.

Apparently he was shot in the waist and left thigh, finally dying at Hospital Kapit.

The crime has roused fury among the netizens on cyberspace, with many calling for cruel means to punish the perpetrators.

Netizen Akufani said that during times of peace, it is vital to be at war with poachers for training purposes.

Now that an innocent life has been taken, another netizen said the Malaysian armed forces can have their open season on the illegal hunters.

Look said that the Malaysian forest is filled with illegal hunters from other countries. In fact, some have made their villages in the jungle.

During hiking, Look said he often prayed not to meet them lest they would just kill people in an attempt to keep their secret.
