“I’m always proud of you”: Nurul Izzah pens moving tribute to her father

WHILE the country awaits with bated breath for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister at 5pm today, his daughter Nurul Izzah has penned a heartfelt message for her father on social media.

Nurul Izzah, who is a PKR vice-president, said challenges still await – and after the oath-taking ceremony – there will be efforts to unite fellow countrymen, address issues with the country’s economy, attract investments through economic stimulus and local talent, and building a community and nation based on social justice and nationality.

“I love you, Papa. Am always proud of you – even as you lay imprisoned as a prisoner of conscience,” she added.

“The legacy we leave behind for our children and future generations isn’t wealth, position or money but idealism and the principles of struggle that money cannot buy.

“Make the future, our time together. Khayr (goodness), Insha’Allah (God willing).” – Nov 24, 2022
