“‘Immoral’ DAP promoting Islamophobia,” Hadi Awang claims

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has accused DAP of promoting Islamophobia, which is apparent with the party “openly slandering” Islam in broad daylight.

In his latest “tirade” on Facebook, Hadi claimed that PAS has become DAP’s target due to PAS’ achievement in the 15th general election (GE15) which saw the Islamic party acquiring the highest number of parliamentary seats among all individual parties including DAP and other parties it uses as “tools” in the Pakatan Harapan coalition.

For the record, PAS won 44 parliamentary seats in GE15, while DAP won 40.

“DAP has imported the hostile views of Orientalists and the Western media about Islam to the point of reporting false information about PAS,” an irate Hadi wrote.

Training his guns on Malay leaders in DAP, Hadi added that DAP appoints “stupid and liberal Malays who are rejected by Islam” to be its mouthpiece, while the party works “in the shadows” to implement its anti-Islam strategies, taking the opportunity to credit Malay Muslims for the end of the deadly May 13, 1969 racial riots.

“(The May 13 riots) were eased and our plural society was saved thanks to Islamic traits within our Malay-Muslim community,” he pointed out.

“In fact, Chinese and Indian families can now not only live peacefully in (PAS strongholds) Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah, but the situation is also like releasing a stuck dog.

“What right does DAP have to admonish the PAS state governments in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah for banning alcohol for Muslims only while giving freedom to non-Muslims? Is this not extremism?”

He asserted that DAP should instead be viewed as the “extreme” party, despite their attempts to “cheat” by presenting Malay-Muslim members, candidates and leaders.

“This will not legitimise its ideologies which go against Islam, similar to how (the cooking of) pork is not legitimised by a Muslim cook wearing a kopiah or serban,” Hadi charged.

“The stink from the rotting corpse (of DAP’s alleged Islamophobia) cannot be hidden by its sullied hands, although it attempts to put on a Malay mask while performing ablutions.”

Hadi’s statement today comes after PH leaders, particularly Amanah youth chief Mohd Sany Hamzan, called for PAS to be banned for spreading racial hatred and misinformation by “riding on the vehicle of religion”.

Sany, who is the Taman Templer assemblyman and the new Hulu Langat MP, had also lodged a police report on social media content allegedly uploaded by PAS members that could incite religious and racial disharmony. – Nov 28, 2022
