I HAVE instructed my lawyers not to accept former UMNO warlord and supreme council member Tan Sri Annuar Musa’s apology and to insist on compensation for defaming me.
I said yesterday (July 8) that the first thing that Annuar did on joining PAS was “to emulate PAS president Tan Sri Hadi Awang to make wild, preposterous and unsubstantiated allegations”.
This is also the second thing that Annuar did. As in his reiteration linking me to the May 13, 1969 racial riots, Annuar is continuing Hadi’s example by making wild, preposterous, and unsubstantiated allegations.
Moreover, Annuar’s new allegation that the DAP went against Islamic values is another example of the lies, falsehood, fake news and hate speech that PAS under Hadi’s leadership is spreading in the coming general elections in the six states of Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
Right from the start of the first general election in 1969, which the DAP contested, the DAP had fielded candidates representing all races and all religions.
In 1969, two Malay Muslim candidates were elected state assemblymen and one of them, Ibrahim Singgeh who had won the Tapah Road State Assembly seat in Perak with 3,319 votes compared to the Alliance’s 2,986 votes and PAS’ 753 voters was announced as the DAP Perak Menteri Besar designate for the 1974 general election.
We have today two Malay or Muslim MPs apart from several state assemblymen and women in the various states.
In 1999, Lim Guan Eng sacrificed his Kota Melaka parliamentary seat and went to jail in defence of the honour and dignity of an underage Malay girl.
Has any PAS leader made any sacrifices for any underage Malay girl, let alone a Malaysian girl of another race or religion? – July 9, 2023
Veteran lawmaker and retired DAP supremo Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang was the former MP for Iskandar Puteri.
