IRB sues APFT unit over RM234,000 unpaid taxes

THE Inland Revenue Board has served a writ of summons to APFT Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of APFT Bhd, claiming unpaid income tax.

The suit sought to claim, among others, RM234,148.76 in outstanding income taxes for the years of assessment 2014-2016, APFT said in a bourse filing today.

APFT and its subsidiaries own and operate a flight education and training academy, the Asia Pacific Flight Training Academy (APFTA), in Kelantan as well as provide aircraft maintenance and air charter services

Other claims being sought by IRB include interest on the sum at 5% per year from judgement date until realisation date, costs and any reliefs granted by the court, APFT added.

“The hearing/case management date was fixed for Aug 5 by the Shah Alam Section Court (e-Review). Further announcements will be made to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd as and when there are any material developments on the above matter,” the company said.
