Is the Madani gov’t failing with price control?

WHILE economic Affairs Minister Rafizi Ramli praised the MADANI Government for controlling inflation, especially food and drink prices, since taking office, the opposition is claiming the cost of certain goods is rising.

This has led to intense debates on X. Rafizi noted that the lowest inflation rate for food and drink was 0.7% in July 2018, rising to 1.2% after the GST was abolished.

Prices surged during the COVID-19 pandemic but began dropping in March 2023.

Ramli also addressed the cost of the Central Database Hub (PADU), clarifying it was RM31 million, not RM85 million, and highlighted its benefits. —Nov 17, 2024
