Ismail Sabri: “BN to remain in opposition, won’t back PH or PN”

BARISAN Nasional (BN) has announced that it will not be backing anyone to form the government and will remain in the opposition.

According to UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, this was the decision made by BN’s Supreme Council.

“Alhamdulillah, BN’s Supreme Council has decided not to support any coalition in forming the government,” he said in a Facebook post.

“BN does not support Pakatan Harapan or Perikatan Nasional. For now, BN has agreed to remain in the opposition.”

Yesterday, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that they were in talks with BN to form a unity government.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah had given party leaders and heads of coalitions until 2pm today to propose their prime ministerial candidate. – Nov 22, 2022
