THE debate between ex-prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is on, scheduled for May 12 (Thursday).
“The debate will take place at Dewan Tunku Canselor, Universiti Malaya, at 9pm. It will also be aired live via several media channels which will be named later upon invitation.
“Further details on the physical presence for the event will be announced later,” said aide to Anwar, Fahmi Fadzil and Najib’s aide Isham Jalil, in a joint statement.
Elaborating on the debate, the duo stated that it would cover three topics, which are:
- The financial problems faced by Sapura Energy Bhd and whether it deserves a bailout or not
- Malaysia’s future; which covers areas such as economy, politics, administration and the nation’s trajectory
- Question and answer session
“We believe many are awaiting the debate. We also confident that it will provide the people an avenue to dissect, celebrate and embrace diverse opinions peacefully so as to represent a mature political discourse.
“God willing, we shall meet on May 12,” they added. – April 17, 2022
