JOBSTREET by SEEK and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen Malaysia’s digital talent ecosystem by combining labour market insights with workforce development initiatives.
The partnership aims to improve workforce planning, support talent development programmes and help employers connect more effectively with skilled digital talent as demand for digital capabilities continues to grow.
Under the collaboration, Jobstreet by SEEK will provide labour market data, hiring trends and insights into in-demand digital skills, while participating in graduate employability programmes, industry forums, roundtables and knowledge-sharing sessions within MDEC’s ecosystem.
MDEC will use Jobstreet by SEEK’s labour market insights to support its talent development initiatives, while facilitating industry engagement with Malaysia Digital (MD) Status companies and potential investors seeking talent solutions.
Jobstreet by SEEK managing director Nicholas Lam said timely labour market insights are becoming increasingly important as Malaysia’s digital economy creates greater demand for skilled workers.
“Through this collaboration with MDEC, we’re pleased to contribute our data and expertise to support talent development initiatives and help employers, jobseekers and policymakers make more informed decisions,” he stated.

MDEC chief executive officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil said Malaysia’s ambition of becoming an AI Nation by 2030 depends on ensuring its workforce has the skills needed to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies.
“Through this collaboration, we are bringing together timely labour market insights and MDEC’s digital ecosystem to better connect talent development with the skills businesses need,” he remarked.
