UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin urged Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to move forward instead of being obsessed with the “court cluster”.
“He seems to be fixated on the ‘court cluster’. Muhyiddin said the only way to prevent the latter from becoming powerful again is by defeating Barisan Nasional in Johor.
“The strange thing is, none of those categorised under the ‘court cluster’ group is contesting in the upcoming election. They are not even involved in the administration of Johor,” he said, in a Facebook post.
On Jan 9, the Election Commission (EC) announced that the Johor state election will take place on March 12, with the nomination day falling on Feb 26.
The state election will see a battle among three coalition, Pakatan, Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional.
In recent weeks, Muhyiddin and Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak have been at each other’s throats and accused one another of being treacherous.
Karma taking its course
While Muhyiddin had said that he feels embarrassed being associated with convicted felons, Najib retaliated by saying the former was not ashamed when seeking his support to become premier.
Touching on the matter, Khaled said that Muhyiddin seemed like he has no clue on how to propose plans to develop Johor and was engaged in cheap shots against his political foes.
The former minister added that what Johoreans wanted was solid plans on how to stabilise the state administration and rejuvenate its economy.
“The truth is, the eighth prime minister is facing the biggest political crisis in his career. After getting ousted as premier and losing badly in the Melaka and Sarawak state elections, he is relying on PAS for support after UMNO snubbed him.
“And the fact that many Bersatu leaders and members leaving the party is making him more jittery. His own karma is now coming back to bite him,” Khaled concluded. – Feb 12, 2022
